Paul has over 40 years of experience in HVAC systems operation and maintenance.  After serving in the US Navy as a Boiler Technician, he worked at several commercial-industrial scale central heating and refrigeration plants managing large factory automation projects with Hewlett-Packard, Beckman Instruments, and Emerson Electric.  Previous to HCTI, Paul was Executive Director Facilities and Operations at the University of California at Irvine.  Paul currently teaches courses for UC Irvine and is an instructor for SDG&E, Southern Cal Edison, Southern California Company and Building Operator Certification (BOC) Program for Northwest Energy Efficiency Council (NEEC).

Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to environmental stewardship, we provide industry best practices to our clients and partner organizations.  We aim to enhance the local CleanTech economy and improve the environmental sustainability of our region.  In 2014, the DOE published a report on the water energy nexus citing the need for joint water-energy policy and better understanding the nexus as it was heavily susceptible to climate change and a matter of national security.  DOE is heavily engaged in the research and development of technologies that can leverage sophisticated data sets to optimize energy and water use in buildings.

HCTI is uniquely positioned to face those challenges, our high performance, patented energy and water solutions are designed to optimize the nexus between energy and water while improving efficiencies and enhancing asset preservation.  Our integrative approach to utility efficiency enables our company to provide a total utility health assessment while mitigating unnecessary capital and operating expenditure.
